Description:
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the American Water Heater Co., of Johnson City, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 16,000 gas-fired water heaters to replace the gas burners. The burners could produce excess carbon monoxide (CO), posing a risk of CO poisoning to consumers.
CPSC and the American Water Heater Co. have not received any reports of injuries or incidents relating to these water heaters. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. The firm discovered the problem with the burners on these water heaters during routine testing.
Only natural gas water heaters sold under the following brand names are included in the recall: American Proline, Envirotemp, Mor-Flo, Powerflex, Premier Plus and US Craftmaster. The serial number, located on the data plate on the front of the water heater, starts with 0124 through 0127. The water heaters were sold in both short and tall profiles, and have 30, 40, 50 and 75 gallon capacities. Other model water heaters sold by the American Water Heater Co. are not included in this recall.

This recall involves Water Heating Technologies “American Standard” gas water heaters. The model numbers included in the recall begin with GN and GSN. The water heaters are white with an “American Standard” logo printed on the front. The model number is printed on a label on the side of the water heater. Remedy:

AquaStar- Tankless Natural gas water heaters. Model AQ38B NG- CPSC Recall #01-085 (Feb. – 2001)
Description:
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Controlled Energy Corporation (CEC), of Waitsfield, Vt., is recalling about 320 AquaStar natural gas water heaters. The heaters can produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas, which can cause serious injuries and death.
CPSC and Controlled Energy have received reports of two deaths and two injuries in Manitoba, Canada, reportedly caused by the release of carbon monoxide from the water heater.
The AquaStar natural gas water heaters were made in Portugal, and were distributed in the United States as model number AQ38B NG. The water heater is off-white in color, with the word “AquaStar” in red, on the front of the unit. The model number can be found on the rating plate, on the right side of the water heater.
The water heaters were sold nationwide through plumbing supply stores and plumbing contractors from March 1997 to January 2001, for about $440, plus installation.
Consumers who have the recalled AquaStar unit (model number AQ38B NG), should turn off the water heater immediately and call Controlled Energy Corporation toll-free at (800) 642-3111 between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. CEC is offering consumers a free on-site repair conducted by a licensed professional plumber.

Bradford & White- Outdoor Gas-Powered Water Heaters. Model HE-15N and HE-15X- CPSC Recall #02-553 (Apr. – 2002)
Description:
PRODUCT: Outdoor Gas Water Heaters – Gas-Fired Products Inc., of Charlotte, N.C., is voluntarily recalling about 1300 Seahorse® and 25 “Bradford & White” Outdoor Gas-Powered Water Heaters. The Seahorse® brand had model numbers WH60-N1, WH60-N3, WH60-N5, WH60-L1, WH60-L3, WH60-L5, WHT60-N1, WHT60-N3, WHT60-N5, WHT60-L1, WHT60-L3, WHT60-L5. The “Bradford & White” brand had models HE-15N and HE-15X.The water heaters were sold nationwide by retailers and also by public gas companies in North Carolina and South Carolina between August 1992 and November 2000 for about $900.
PROBLEM: Over time the heat exchanger could become blocked creating a potential ventilation and cracking problem, posing a fire hazard if nearby combustibles ignite.
INCIDENTS/INJURIES: CPSC and Gas-Fired Products Inc have received reports of 2 incidents involving minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the water heaters immediately and contact the recall hotline toll-free at (800) 438-4936 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a free repair kit. Most consumers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

Bradford White- 75-Gallon Power Vented Gas Water Heaters. Model MIITW75T6* and TW375S76* series- CPSC Recall #02-553 (Aug. – 2002)
Description:
PRODUCT: Gas Water Heaters – Bradford White Corporation, of Ambler, Pa., is voluntarily recalling 1,220 75-Gallon Power Vented Gas Water Heaters. The recalled water heaters are models: MIITW75T6EN12; MIITW75T6CX12; TW375S76E3N; and TW375S763X with serial number “YD” (all) through YE 1395234. The model and serial numbers are located on the heater rating plate and on the shipping carton label. Bradford White Corporation sold these water heaters to plumbing supply wholesalers from April 2002 to May 2002. The water heaters were manufactured in the United States.
PROBLEM: The water heater may have been fitted with incorrectly made flue gas baffles. These baffles may affect fuel combustion resulting in excessive carbon monoxide emissions, which can cause serious injuries and death.
INCIDENTS/INJURIES: None reported.
WHAT TO DO: Consumers who purchased one of these water heaters should immediately contact their installing contractor or call Bradford White Technical Support at (800) 334-3393, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Internet site at www.bradfordwhite.com. Bradford White will confirm the status of the product. If involved, Bradford White will arrange for inspection (and replacement if necessary) of the flue baffle at no cost to the consumer.

Coaire- S-Line Condensing Tankless Water Heater – CPSC Recall #15-026 (Nov. – 2014)
Description:
This recall involves all models of single- and dual-purpose Coaire and Quietside brand tankless gas water heaters. The recalled water heaters heat either 4 or 7.2 gallons of water per minute. They are white and come in the following dimension ranges: 25-28 inches tall x 15-19 inches wide x 8-14 inches thick. The words “S-Line Condensing” are on the top front and brand names “Coaire” or “Quietside” are on the bottom front of the recalled water heaters.
Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water heaters and contact Challenger Supply Holdings to arrange for a free repair.
Incidents/Injuries:
Daesung has received 40 reports of the units overheating, including four involving burns on the wall where the heater was mounted and two involving fires and property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Remedy:
Consumers should immediately ensure there are no combustible materials near the water heater and contact Giant for a free inspection. If the water heater has a space between the bottom of the water tank and the combustion chamber, Giant will replace the water heater free of charge.

Description: This recall involves Laars 9600 CB Condensing Heating Boilers and Laars 9600 HWG Condensing Water Heaters with black vent pipe/tubing. The recalled boilers are used to generate hot water for heating systems including baseboards or radiant flooring. The recalled water heaters generate hot water for use in homes, such as showers, sinks and dishwashers. “Mark II” and “9600 CB” or “9600 HWG” are printed on the front of the boilers and water heaters. NAVIEN- Tankless Water Heater – CPSC Recall #12-074 (Dec. – 2011)
Description:
Navien tankless hot water heaters are white with “T-Creator” and “NAVIEN” on the front. Recalled model numbers are CR-180(A), CR-210(A), CR-240(A), CC-180(A), CC-210(A) and CC-240(A) manufactured in 2008. A label on the side of the water heater lists the model number along with the manufacturing year in YYYY format.
Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using and check the model and manufacture year information on their Navien water heater. Consumers with recalled water heaters should immediately contact Navien to schedule a free repair. Navien will replace all Nylon 66 vent collar with PVC collars. Consumers who continue use of the water heaters while awaiting repair, should have a working carbon monoxide alarm installed outside of sleeping areas in the home.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the American Water Heater Co., of Johnson City, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 16,000 gas-fired water heaters to replace the gas burners. The burners could produce excess carbon monoxide (CO), posing a risk of CO poisoning to consumers.
CPSC and the American Water Heater Co. have not received any reports of injuries or incidents relating to these water heaters. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. The firm discovered the problem with the burners on these water heaters during routine testing.
Only natural gas water heaters sold under the following brand names are included in the recall: American Proline, Envirotemp, Mor-Flo, Powerflex, Premier Plus and US Craftmaster. The serial number, located on the data plate on the front of the water heater, starts with 0124 through 0127. The water heaters were sold in both short and tall profiles, and have 30, 40, 50 and 75 gallon capacities. Other model water heaters sold by the American Water Heater Co. are not included in this recall.

Description:
This recall involves all models of single- and dual-purpose Coaire and Quietside brand tankless gas water heaters. The recalled water heaters heat either 4 or 7.2 gallons of water per minute. They are white and come in the following dimension ranges: 25-28 inches tall x 15-19 inches wide x 8-14 inches thick. The words “S-Line Condensing” are on the top front and brand names “Coaire” or “Quietside” are on the bottom front of the recalled water heaters.
Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water heaters and contact Challenger Supply Holdings to arrange for a free repair.
Incidents/Injuries:
Daesung has received 40 reports of the units overheating, including four involving burns on the wall where the heater was mounted and two involving fires and property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Description:
PRODUCT: Outdoor Gas Water Heaters – Gas-Fired Products Inc., of Charlotte, N.C., is voluntarily recalling about 1300 Seahorse® and 25 “Bradford & White” Outdoor Gas-Powered Water Heaters. The Seahorse® brand had model numbers WH60-N1, WH60-N3, WH60-N5, WH60-L1, WH60-L3, WH60-L5, WHT60-N1, WHT60-N3, WHT60-N5, WHT60-L1, WHT60-L3, WHT60-L5. The “Bradford & White” brand had models HE-15N and HE-15X.The water heaters were sold nationwide by retailers and also by public gas companies in North Carolina and South Carolina between August 1992 and November 2000 for about $900.
PROBLEM: Over time the heat exchanger could become blocked creating a potential ventilation and cracking problem, posing a fire hazard if nearby combustibles ignite.
INCIDENTS/INJURIES: CPSC and Gas-Fired Products Inc have received reports of 2 incidents involving minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the water heaters immediately and contact the recall hotline toll-free at (800) 438-4936 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a free repair kit. Most consumers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

Description:
The recalled Delta Performance or Delta Performance Plus Series Combination Water Heaters operate on natural or propane gas. The water heaters are white and rectangular. “Triangle Tube” is written on the silver-colored control panel. “Delta” is printed on the front of the water heater. The burner is located under a white or gray cover that protrudes outward at the bottom front of the heater. The models and serial numbers included in this recall are listed below. The model and serial numbers are located on the rating plate on either the front or the right side of the water heater.
