Bosch® Water age
How to determine the date of production/manufacture or age of Bosch® brand Water Heater Systems.
Water heaters in general have an average estimated useful service life of 10-12 years, though water quality, routine upkeep/maintenance, and location of the water heater will all play critical roles in the longevity of these systems.

Note: Bosch uses a proprietary numbering system to code the date of manufacture in their serial numbers. All of the first 3 digits in the serial number MUST be used to accurately determine the date of manufacture. The first digit represents year of manufacture. To determine decade, the next 2 digits designating month must be considered as they changed with the decade. See charts below.

Month of manufacture can be determined by using the 2nd & 3rd digits of the serial number

Beginning in 2010, the date of manufacture is clearly printed on the data/rating tag.

Similar to style 1 - Simply disregard the letters at beginning of serial number.
